Wowzer!

I look so damn hot!!! Yeap, that's right, all my photos are up. This isn't a long post because I have friends coming around to celebrate. I'm doing my clothes shopping tomorrow with sarah because she had work the day I wanted to do it and tomorrow is the only day that we'll be able to go together!!!
But don't I look good (referring to my before and after photos)? Will update again tomorrow with photos of all my new clothes and things.
Look out hamilton stores, here comes sam!!!
3 DAYS OFF!!!! Woohoo! It's been 33 & 36 degrees in my work the last couple days so I'm needing these days off.
Will post again in a day or so. Ciao

I have the power!

The universe actually heard that I was pissed and managed to sort a few things out for me. Isn't that cool? Maybe it just needed to know I wasn't putting up with shit any longer.
Got my digital camera, finally! Got a letter in the mail the other day saying "tried to deliver, you weren't home, blah blah blah!" so I gave them a ring during my break yesterday and drove out to pukete and picked it up from the office myself. Feels good to close that worry away.
For some reason shifting felt a whole lot closer yesterday and I actually got into the mood to pack. Not only this but tec starting feels closer too, only two more working mondays to go! YAY!
And because I'm going shopping the weekend before tec starts to get all new clothes I have renewed inspiration for weight loss. It was weigh day today and despite having eaten LOTS of crap this week, and over my points like 2 out 3 days I managed to lose like 800grams. Crazy! But that means I have 2 more weigh ins before I have my shopping spree to lose just 1 more kg!!!! I'm so excited! And I know I stated that I was going to stick to 18 points a day no matter what like a couple weeks ago, well this time its going to happen! I'm going to hit goal before I go shopping!
So now that I have my camera when I get home from work tonight I might pop a face photo up and compare it to my old one. I decided I'm not doing the before and after shots until after I hit goal. HIT GOAL!!! That sounds so awesome!
Have a fantastic day everybody!

25 January 2006

ARGH!

Well totally blew my points today.
Doubt I'll lose much if anything this week now.
I want to be at my goal weight, I want to finish working full-time, I want tec to start, I want to be shifted so that I don't have to f*cking worry about this sh*t no more!! Most of all I WANT MY CAMERA!!!!
Ciao

P.S- Please don't be alarmed just finished playing a game with the boyfriend. He kicked my ass.....BAD. I'm an only child, I hate losing. Nuff said.

Flabby thighs

I see that there is something fundamental that is lacking on my new prettied up blog and that's photos of me. Sadly due to the fact that I still don't have my camera (new issues with this, I won't keep boring you with the lies I'm being fed by HP products) images probably won't be going up soon. When I do get it though, some before and after photos will be being taken so that's something to look forward to right? Wrong! They're of me in my bikini. LMAO! You'll all go blind I swear. I promised myself that when I hit goal I'd do the before and after photo thingee-ma-bob, despite the fact that I hate my thighs now more than ever. Everywhere else I can accept but they're are so out of place on my body now that they just look wrong!
Has anyone seen the movie 'real women have curves'? The scene in that where they all strip down to their underwear in the sweat shop, well I did that today with my aunty and mum. Scarey I know! But they wanted to see why I was complaining about my thighs. Afterwards they agreed with me. Ha! So I'm not imagining things. They didn't say they looked bad just that even if I lost more weight they probably wouldn't look any better and that toning is the way to go now. Any that means what ladies and gentlemen? Exercise. Plain and simple. *sigh* Thought I could escape this one. Don't get me wrong I love exercise....once I'm moving. Its the whole starting thing I have an issue with.
The plan is that when Tec starts I have 2 and a half hours between when I finish my classes for the day and when I have to go pick the man up after work. During that time I can get my spare studying done in the library AND go for a walk around hamilton lake (just up the road from the man's work). It won't be everyday of the week but 3 or 4 days a week will still be impressive considering its a 4km all the way around the lake. It would be nice to build up to running around the lake, but at this stage it will just be fast walking. I'll also get myself together a toning routine. Things like push-ups and sit-ups and things. I just need to make this program fit in with studying, because if it doesn't I will end up putting studying first.
If anyone has any ideas on this sort of thing it would be much appreciated if you could leave some tips.
Have a great evening everyone.

So pretty!

I'm very happy with my new pretty layout. It will have to do for quite some time too as I don't believe I'll have much time to change it around when Tec starts.
I had a really nice day today (minus the courier failing to delivery my camera YET AGAIN, despite ringing me to confirm that I'll be home between 12-4 so that they're able to deliver it). Got a lot of things organised. Handed in our vacation notification to our real estate agent, did some more sanding, grocery shopping, went and saw studylink and sorted that out, and also managed washing and cleaning the house. AND cooking dinner. And I feel content with the world again.
Eating has been going a lot better the last two days (after eating 4 pieces of russian fudge on friday night). I had to sort of prod my mind into realising that just because I have points left at the end of the day I don't have to eat them. And that if I don't just eat for the sake of eating then when I do feel like splurges (like the russian fudge) I've actually got points saved up so that I don't have to feel guilty. So today I'm up to 13.5 points and I'm about to go and have cup of tea but that's it. A nice saving of 4 points today. I'm hoping for a good loss this week, can you tell? hehehe

20 January 2006

Didn't maintain....

I lost! Holy crap. Despite it only being a 300g lost the fact that I averaged out at about 20 points a day (and I'm meant to be on 18 points a day) makes a loss surprising. My mind has been on so many things this week that I'm surprised I didn't fall off the wagon completely.
Had a very nice but naughty surprise when a friend came around today. Was great seeing her, but she bought along a box of donovan's chocolate russian fudge (one of my favourites). I've had 3 pieces today so far, at a cost of 6 points in total. They're so little too :( Digital camera didn't turn up AGAIN, even though I spent the WHOLE day at home, not on the phone or the net. They said the courier would call before dropping by. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! It gave me plenty of time to sand some more of our dining table set though. 6 Hours worth of sanding. My wrist is so damn sore! Anyway I'm gonna do some playing around with my template now, I'm getting really bored with this look. Need a change.
Have a good night y'all. I'm working both days this weekend, then get monday & tuesday off. Boy do I need that break!

19 January 2006

Holy Moley! What a time!

Well the last few days have been rather tiring, working full-time is hard work! ('xuse the pun) I'm starting to get excited about moving now, planning where things will go in the new house and things. And I'll be buying a new washing machine when we move in which is even better :) We went and had a look at forlongs today and boy they have some good deals in there at the moment. The boyfriend and I were talking about getting a lounge suite once he gets his end of year bonus and pays off his current account there. I know what you're thinking....ticking things up unneccesarily but our plan is to get all of the furniture and things that we need for our house before we end up with the mortgage. And in the meantime we're both building our credit ratings which will be another way of showing the bank we are worth having as mortgagees. We're careful that we can ALWAYS make payments and we never go over certain limits. Hire purchase can work, you just need to have some personal guidelines in place.
Anyway! Enough justifying of spending money. I never thought I'd say this but that washing machine I'm buying is absolutely gorgeous! Can't wait to use it, and we get free delivery and hook up to :)
On to food.....hmmmmm....well, yes. That has not been going so great. I've managed to eat a lot of lollies though. Due to a large container full being placed at the counter at my work. I can't resist food if it's just sitting there in front of me. So yeah, had a lot of those. And had burger king for dinner tonight. Been over 18 points a couple days this week, been under 18 a couple days too though so what I'm hoping is that they both even out and I maintain. This week has most certainly been my worst week for eating so far.
Oh my digital camera that was supposed to have arrived like saturday hasn't come yet. Rang the company they told me the address that I gave them was a commercial one and that nobody there went by the name samantha. What the hell? Stupid overseas companies, they set up their help desks in countries other than theirs! Like I'm pretty sure this is an american based company but both of the call people I have dealt with now were indian (whom I could barely understand) and I was sitting on the phone for 3/4 of the conversation waiting for information to come through on their computer screen. GRRRR! But hopefully I should have my new camera by tomorrow. The courier company will be ringing my land line before driving here so hopefully english will be THEIR first language and I'll be able to check the address that they're taking the package to is the right one. Okay enough ranting about that.
As you can see my mind is else where from eating healthy and exercising, so I think I may just end this post for tonight. I'm getting terribly excited about having room to actually put stuff places now when we move :)
Hope everyone's having more luck with the foreigners they are coming in contact with than I am. Just kidding :) Ciao.

15 January 2006

We're moving!

Yeap you heard me right, in approximately 4 weeks time (right on the bloody week that I start tec) we will be moving house. It's Duncan's (boyfriend) parents house. They have just received news of a new job in Auckland that starts in 5 weeks time so they're shifting up there and want to rent their place out and Duncan was offered first dibs which is awesome. It's a four bedroom home (2 singles, 2 doubles) and we'll be paying $300 for it. It's a lot more than we pay now but even with me using one of the singles as a study and only renting out the two leftover bedrooms we can cover rent easy peasy. We're aren't relying on renters though, Duncan can afford $300 rent the weeks inbetween that we don't have renters. The house has been newly renovated and it's in a really nice area. It's reasonably close his work too, and tec. I'm terribly excited. Anxious too though. That week is going to be pretty full on! What with it being first week of Tec too.
I've always been scared of moving in the past but this time I feel a lot more positive about it, I'm open to the change. The place has a fireplace too! So no more cold winters. WOOHOO!!
Anyway back to health and fitness home front. Had weigh day on friday, only lost 500g :( BUT it's still a loss and not a gain so thats a good thing. Had a bit of a pig out last night sadly, on some chippies and lollies. I'm hoping that I burnt some of it off though because we went clubbing and I was dancing for like an hour and a half straight (no sitting down) and I dance REALLY actively so I was pretty much sweating the whole time. Gross I know! But atleast I can consider exercise. I ate better today and stayed under my points.
I've noticed lately that I can quite literally feel my body being lighter than it was. It doesn't take as much effort to stand or run somewhere or whatever. It's cool! I feel like a kid with boundless energy. Okay perhaps not boundless hehe.
Well I'm sure you guys have heard me blab on enough now, hope you all had a good weekend. And I hope you have an even better week. Ciao.

12 January 2006

Why do grumpy people have to take it out on others?

Well just a quick update tonight. Had an ok day. Got a really grumpy b*tchy girl at work that is just making days more difficult than they need to be. Had my second pie in 3 days but I'm still under my points for the day so its ok. I just wouldn't wanna take a look at my arteries at the moment hehe. Rang the camera manufacturer, they're sending me out a new camera on saturday (yay!). So I'll be able to take a few photos to show you guys how I'm looking at the moment, maybe do a few before and after photos maybe?
I'm exhausted and it's only been one day of work, *sigh* but just one more day then I get saturday off to go to a wedding.
Weigh day tomorrow and I'm hoping for about a kg, it would be good if I got that but I have a feeling it will be less sadly.... :(
Gonna go watch Mr and Mrs Smith now. Have a good night everyone.
Ciao

I believe! I believe! I have the FAITH!

As it says above, I've got the faith! I believe that I can do this. That upon accomplishing a goal that I had spent my whole life avoiding due to a view of it being too difficult....I am actually losing weight! That still astounds me.
I managed to stay under 18 points yesterday despite having to go to a hen's party (rather boring I must say). AND I went for that walk around the lake. I'm sure what the exact distance is but I've heard the numbers 4 or 5 km mentioned by lots of other hamiltonians. I love the walk around the lake now, so refreshing! I'd love to eventually run around it one day! And that is my next goal. I may very well end up doing this goal kicking and screaming in the beginning but in the end by achieving it I will have done yet another thing that seemed almost impossible to me.
You may see a couple cute changes around here over the next few days in terms of the look of my page. I think it's time it had a spruce up.
Well I can't really talk much any more as I have to go off to stinking work but I hope everyone keeps smiles on their faces today. I can't wait to get back to studying! I'm sick of working! And today my workplace is suspected to get up to about 32 degrees. Poor me :( Sweating like a pig I shall be. Atleast I don't look like one now, lol!
Have a great day everybody.

11 January 2006

I'm in awe of myself.

Okay this may sound cliche but today I have actually realised just how much of a change I have made in my life in terms of weight loss and healthy eating. (granted yes I had burger king for dinner last night but the difference is there!)
Yesterday I was trying on some of my old clothes and things, slowly getting myself used to idea of throwing them all out in approximately 4 weeks time and I was just amazed at how big everything was. AND a pair of jeans that were given to me like about a month ago that the zip wouldn't even do up on are now doing up and buttoning up. I can't yet sit in them comfortably but WOW! I'm just amazed with myself.
Today's the sort of day that I would love to post some before and after photos just to show you guys the physical difference but sadly my camera is still not working (mental note, ring manufacturers). I found my measuring tape yesterday too in all the clean-up and I have redone my measurements and I've lost a whopping 38.5 cms from my body now! Here's the measurements to show you where it all came from....
Week 1
Weight - 76 kg
Upper Arm - 32 cm
Chest - 89 cm
Butt - 109 cm
Waist (smallest part) - 76 cm
Waist (navel) - 95 cm
Thigh - 58.5 cm
Hips - 98 cm

Week 12
Weight - 65.6 kg
Upper arm - 29 cm
Chest - 85 cm
Butt - 101.5 cm
Waist (smallest part) - 72 cm
Waist (navel) - 86 cm
Thigh - 54.5 cm
Hip - 91 cm

I'm still amazed at how many cms that is! And I'm not even finished yet! Looking back on how many weeks it's taken when I first started all I could think was man 3 months is such a LONG time, but to be honest the time has FLOWN by and I don't want to jinx myself but it was a hell of a lot easier than I had imagined it to be. I'm so proud of myself today.
As soon as I am able to get my camera working I will be popping up some face photos to compare. And when I get down to my new goal 59 or 60 kg I will be donning my bathing suit and taking my after photos. hehe.
Oh and guess what I added up how many kilos I've lost in total from different means over the years since I was 13 when I was 98 kg and it's a total loss of 33 kg!!!!!
I was shocked to hear that but hopefully I can get hold of some photos to show you guys from my fatter days :)
I'm in need of toning a lot more than weight loss now (even though I still have some to lose) my thighs havn't slimmed down as much as I would have liked them to and they still wobble quite a bit so I'm thinking about refocusing my efforts on fitness. I'm going to have a think about this over the next day or so.
In the meanwhile I'm off for a walk around the lake. Have a great day everybody!

10 January 2006

Phew!

Just a quick update because boy am I busy today! Just finised rearranging my study area getting ready for starting tec in February and I've got some errands to run all over town. I did really well with my eating yesterday and managed to stay under 18 points :) I didn't get any 'exercise' in as such but spent a lot of time walking to and fro from the counter at work and got a little bit of action last night that I'm sure must have burnt off some points hehe. Today I'll probably try and get out for a walk even though I've been doing some really hefty lifting all morning. I've realised that 18 points isn't quite as easy as it sounds. It is definitly taking a little bit to get used to. You wouldn't think so considering its only a 2 point step down but it makes a huge change. I'm eating steamed veges with something else small for lunch at the moment, it's an easy way to cut down on points.
I may update later on tonight with how the rest of my day went. I'm now off to ring the letting agent we rent under (got a blocked storm pipe), the tec office, then studylink, then warehouse stationary (to look at getting my camera fixed), then round to my mommys to drop some stuff off, then coming home starting dinner, then going to pick the man up from work. Boy! Busy wee me :) Oh and that's all after I've finished doing 3 loads of washing and cleaning the rest of the house.
Phew!

08 January 2006

Sloth and Gluttony, two deadly sins down 5 to go.

I have been slack. I need to admit this to myself. So I hit my 10kg weight loss on friday. Very proud of myself :) So proud that I proceeded to stuff my face with food for that whole day! I can't understand, maybe it's that self-sabotage and doubt creeping back into my head again? Anyway I managed to bop it on the head after stuffing myself for two days straight. Undoubtedly I'll be gaining this week but I have no one to blame for that but myself. The good thing? Being so bad kicks me in the butt and makes me to want to be REALLY REALLY good. Hehe. My kinetic program fell to the wayside too. So my resolution? I have 5 weigh ins (4 and half weeks) until I need to be happy with the size and shape that I am so that I will be happy going on my shopping spree on February the 11th. I have set this date as I am starting Tec the following Monday and I would love to look fabulous for my first day. So kicking my healthy eating and exercising into gear and here are my plans.
  1. Do exercise every day. Minimum being a half an hour walk.
  2. Eat more vegetables, and learn to love it! (currently semi-like them)
  3. Stay under 20 points every day (preferrably under 18)

I understand that their may be days that I want to opt out of this program I just need to keep in mind that this next five weeks will be easier to do now than when I'm studying. And then hopefully by the time I do start studying it would be nice to be in the habit of exercising daily and staying under (or around) 20 points a day. The points will obviously be adjusted depending on that weeks weigh in.

I'm also keen to get into running, it easy learn (not to start off with but it does get easier), it doesn't take a lot of time and I can do it anywhere.

Okay enough beratting (sp?) myself, upon reaching my 10kg goal I went and got all my hair chopped off like I promised. I've had plenty of compliments which is awesome :) I like it, although its taking a bit to get used to. The hairdresser took off approximately 20 cms of hair. I had intended to show you guys the before and after shot but unfortunately I managed to drop my camera and now it doesn't work :( Will have to ring up manufacturer and omitt the details of me dropping it and hope that they fix it for me.

So five weeks from it would be nice to be little more toned and weigh a little less. And hopefully it will be a weight that I can comfortably maintain so that my clothes will remain fitting :)

Now I'm just starting to blab so I shall bounce for now so that I can get some much needed sleep. Hope everyone elses new years resolutions are going a bit better. Ciao.

05 January 2006

Yes I'm still alive :)

Well that 300g gain over Christmas has kicked me in the butt and I have been eating healthy as even right over new years. That wasn't hard though because we didn't do much for new years and the most I had to drink was 3 glasses of wine. I'm such a party girl :) I hope everyone had a great new years. I didn't get a chance to jump on and update with my resolutions sadly due to the fact that I'm run off my feet with work and stuff that I'm doing around the house. My man and I on the day before new years day spent the day ripping out all the weeds from our gardens (a mission in itself) and then had to do a trailer load to the dump to get rid of it all. So I spent most of new years eve sleeping from exhaustion. Then the next day we got a trailer load of sand and did a small (but hard work!) patch of paving for a place to put our barbeque. That took almost the whole day too. Needless to say excercising has fallen to the way side even though I absolutely love kinetic! I'm going to have to restart the program over the weekend. Then last night I prepped the soil and trimmed this huge bush along our path so that I could plant my biggest blowout of money ($60 work of plants, potting mix, and planters) since who knows when! My muscles are SOOOO sore today. SO....can anyone guess what one of my new years resolutions was? Well here they are.

  1. Watch less t.v, do more outside.
  2. Be a more attentive friend and generally be friendly to new people I meet.
  3. Get through first year nursing! (that's a biggy)
  4. And get down to my goal weight by the end of february and remain thereabouts until next new years.
  5. Finally, show my man every day that I love him SO much, and that I feel very Very lucky to have him.

Well thats them. And I don't know that I've got much else to say. I hope everyone really did have a fantastic new year's and I'm hoping to catch up on all the journals around soon, I've missed you guys. Sad huh?
Might post some photos of our pretty garden and paving tonight.
