Man am I pooped!

Went for a good 2 and half hour walk today with a close friend. My calf's are SOOO sore, because I wore these jandal type shoes and well...you get the picture. It gave me a whopping 8 pts though because we weren't walking slow. I really enjoyed it. It was good getting to spend time with her again.
I have to come to the conclusion that a set workout regimen is not what I need right now and it would be best for me to simply try and do minimum of half an hours exercise a day. Whether thats walking, yoga, running, interval training, whatever. Atleast I will be doing exercise. You never know I may reassess (sp) this in a few weeks time and see if I want to get into a specific routine. In the meantime in concern with the music while running thing I'm working getting hold of a tape walkman to use. I'm a student...I'm poor....what can I say?
Anyway had a great day. Ate away all my hard earned points this evening unfortunately but atleast I'm not over.
Have got my final science exam tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it being done, finished, over, caput! So that's what I need to be studying for right now. Everyone have a great day tomorrow. I hope the weathers as great for you guys as it has been for us for the last 2 days. night night

Bleh

Well today I am feeling 'bleh' as you can see from my title. To be honest with everyone I've been one lazy bugger! I havn't done any exercise for the last 4 or 5 weeks past the point of taking the rubbish out to the side of the road. A good 100 steps. I keep making excuses in my head and even though I recognise that they're excuses it still doesn't stop me from just accepting them.
For example one of my excuses is that I'll be working full-time for the next 10 weeks which will mean I'll have to get up quite early if I am to do any sort of exercise because I sure as hell know I won't have energy after work. Now the problem with this excuse (besides the whiney undertones) is that I'm ALWAYS going to have things to do and that life has to fit around exercise....not the other way around.
To tell you the truth I'd LOVE to get into the habit of running. I'd love to be fit enough to say that I go for a half hour run 3 times a week, but I've tried this so many times and I really don't think running is for me. It's like this weight watchers thing. I've tried this a couple times before and failed those times before I even saw any results but this time my whole mindset is different. It's a lifestyle thing now instead of a quick fix.
That's what I don't get. I don't mind running, and when I do it I really enjoy it. It makes me feel good afterwards and it's a REALLY good workout. It doesn't take long to do and it's one of those things that is the best use of my time. It gives me a better workout than I'd have if I was walking AND I'd have killer legs to boot. so....DESPITE me being able to reason all of these things for why I should run I still don't! I think perhaps if I had music to run to, I would enjoy it more...but I don't want to spend a lot on some nifty toy to run with if it's not going to work...
Anyway that's my rant for the day about exercise and if I was to be honest with myself food isn't going that great either. I'm staying within points but eating so much junkfood it's not funny. Think I might have a healthy day today.
If anyone has any ideas about my running dilemma I'd love to hear it :)
Have a great day everyone.
P.S - handing in my very LAST assignment today. Only have my test on thursday to get through now. YAY!

25 November 2005

yeehaw!!!

I got my acceptance letter to get into nursing today in the mail. WOOHOO!!!! I'm so stoked, not because I've gotten in (I knew I would, cocky I know but who cares?) but because I finally know that I'm in! YAY! It's such a relief. I also got my treaty essay back (don't know if I've said this already) but I've passed that, I got my science results, 95%, it's not a hundred but it will do. I got my maths results 88% and I passed my presentation. So I have NO resubmits for my entire course, I think I might be the only one in the class with no resubmits. :)
AND weigh day this morning 68.8 kg. YEAH! Another 1 kg off. I thought I wasn't going to lose anything so that was a nice surprise and good start to the day.
I've got all my christmas presents bought and wrapped (except 3) and now I just have to go do the house cleaning.
Hope everybody has a fantastic weekend :)

24 November 2005

32 sleeps

I'm finally starting to get excited about Christmas, we have big plans this year. Last night me and my man went Christmas shopping and I managed to buy for almost everybody in the one store (thank God for the Warehouse, heh). The poor boy left his wallet at home though so I had to finish my shopping then I went home and did more work on the painting I'm doing while he went back and bought everything that he needed to buy, including a new computer chair for me. YAY! It's way better for my back and far more comfortable! But today after tec I'm shopping for the last few presents I have to buy and then tonight I get to wrap them all, woohoo!

Speaking of Tec I got my treaty essay back and I was one of three in the class who passed straight out the gate, most other people have to resubmit. And we get our science test results back this arvo so I might pop in and write them in here a little later on today. And I passed my presentation that I had to do yesterday on fad diets and sat my last maths test today. Don't think I did so great in that but it'll be enough to pass. And FINALLY my very last class for the year is next thursday where I have my last science test, based on everything we have learnt over the last few months. Then the following week I start working full-time. Ep!
Not much time to relax but I'll have far more money in the hand and it will be worth it.

Tomorrows weigh day and I doubt that I'll be losing much weight this week, if I lose any at all (God forbid gaining!). I don't have anyone to blame but myself because I havn't been eating very well this week (I'm over by about 10 pts), and I've done nothing in the way of exercise. I might go for a walk tonight to see if I can make any of this up. If I can be bothered getting off my fat lazy butt!
Ciao

*does a little dance chanting "yay I'm almost finished, yay I'm almost finished"*

23 November 2005

let the sun shine through!

I got a bit bored with the horrid darkness of my page and in a way I think I may have been hiding behind it. So cheerier is what I am now, which a much brighter, happier page.

Tec is almost through for the year (just two exams to go) and in a way I'm both happy and sad at the same time. I've become accustomed to always being busy and however much I complain about it I really actually need it. It stops me from eating. So I have been organising myself so that over the next 10 weeks or so that I will be working full-time I will be able to keep myself busy. I don't want to spend all my time at home watching tv either so have made a resolution typed on my wall that reads...
I will not watch more than 2 hours of tv a day
I will not spend more than 1/2 an hour on the computer a day

I realise that to some people 2 hours is a lot but this is taking into account that some nights I may feel like watching a movie. So most nights it will be less than 2 hours anyway. So what am I going to do in all my spare time? I'm going to get back into my art, I'm already working on a painting for our lounge wall (still contemplating whether I will take a photo to post on here for all to judge). I know that my art isnt anything fantastic, and I mainly do it because I like the feel of the brush in my hand, the strokes relax me. And it upsets me when people criticise it, because its not for them. It's mine. It feels like someone is in my head criticising my view of the world, my beliefs and loves when they criticise my work. Anyway sorry for that rant. I don't believe in art criticism, the farest I'll go in offering my opinion on someones art will be something that I like about it. Whether it is the colour, placement of things or idea/theme that I see behind it.

Eating has been going okay, I'm in a bit of a rut at the moment. I'm varying my diet but feeling restricted at the same time. I can't really make much sense of it as of yet so I will probably talk about it more when I know.

Well tec is over for the day I'm heading home to do some painting. It feels good to have time that is truly to myself again.

P.S - Just wanted to point out this lovely girls blog (sorry don't know her name yet) pop on over if you get a chance. Give her some encouragement :) Losing Me

21 November 2005

grrr....backoff I got PMS, and I ain't afraid to use it

Not in the best of moods as you can probably tell by the title above this post. I'm crying at the drop of a hat and snacking so much that its annoying me and I'm just darned tired. I know it may seem like all I do is moan and complain but theres something missing at the moment....not sure what, maybe its exercise but for whatever reason I'm not feeling entirely happy with life. It may also have something to do with yesterday being the first day me and my man have had off together in 2 and a half weeks and I kept telling him I wanted to do something. We stayed inside the whole day watching tv and eating. This was bad for a) my points and b) my happiness. He's done nothing for the last two weekends. And I just wanted to go somewhere. But I've just learnt my lesson. Can't rely on him if I want to do something fun. Stinks huh? So next weekend I get off, which is not this weekend but the next I'm doing something on the sunday, even though it will be the first weekend of december and we have 3 functions to go to (one on the friday night, two on the saturday, one for lunch, one for dinner) I still plan on doing something on the sunday. I think I'm going to make a habit of going out on my sundays off until he gets the idea that thats what I'm wanting to do.
Anyway enough b*tching, I've also resolved to stop swearing (its un-ladylike).
Eating isn't going great but its not too bad either. Only went like 10 points over this weekend, can make that up easy. Even though I've been kicking myself for doing it. I'm just gonna pick my head up and carry on. I think it may be a little self-sabotage..... :-) not good. But atleast it was recognised hehe
Have a great day everybody.

18 November 2005

i did it!!!!!

I got through all the crap of stressing, and got my arse into gear and got my assignments done. It turned out to be an all nighter though. Was up til 2 in the morning the day the treaty assignment was due, then went to bed (tossed and turned) and got up at 5 to get study in for a science test that I was taking that morning. The good news? I KNOW that I aced both! I'm really impressed with myself. Atleast I know now that when I get into nursing next year I'll be able to pull an all nighter if I HAVE to.

In terms of weight loss and health YAY! I think I've gotten over snacking and over eating when I'm stressed! I've conquered it! And weigh in was this morning.....drum roll please..

...DUM DUM DUM..... 69.8!!!!
woohoo! I'm a 60's girl!!! I HAVE NEVER WEIGHED 60 ANYTHING IN MY LIFE!!!! It feels strange, sort of surreal. It was a loss of 1.8kg this week which is huge!

Been staying in my points, but not really eating great. Lots of junk but thats my focus this week. Healthy dinners. Well okay I might start after tonight. We're having nachos tonight. mmmmmm.

Just wanted to let you guys know I have been reading! Just havn't had time to write any comments, but I will make an effort to in the next couple days. But for now I'm going to relax. I have work tomorrow (boss needed someone to cover another student who has exams at the moment), so I need to get as much mee time as I possibly can today.

BIG thanx to people who left me messages encouraging my studying. Much appreciated :)

P.S - forgot to mention, went and saw a physiotherapist about my shoulder, she says my cs and c4 vertebrae are compacted. Mainly due to my bad posture. She gave it a stretch out and taught me how to stand properly and I have another appointment on tuesday where she'll begin to do work on it. yay!

16 November 2005

tired....sooooo tired...

Just another quick update for now. Still working treaty essay. Almost done, but it's due tomorrow. I just have to write my last paragraph and my intro and conclusion today and tonight. It'll be good once its done, finished, over! I got my presentation preparation organised yesterday, don't have to worry about that till next tuesday when I present. And I havn't started studying yet for that science exam tomorrow eeeppp!!!
In terms of food and stuff I'm doing good, I went over on saturday. But I've made it up now. I don't think it's going to be a healthy dinner tonight. I won't have time to cook, so it'll probably be burger king for dinner.
I woke up on Monday morning and my neck was restrained. Not as bad as last time but I'm getting bad headaches this time round. Couldn't do any essay writing last night because of it. I'm way tired because I got up at 5 this morning to do writing before I left for tec to make up for last night. :( Well I'm off to listen to another groups presentations. Man am I going to be glad when this weeks over and I can just sit back and relax and have the weekend to myself. It seems all things are conspiring against me to get things done. I guess it serves me right for procrastinating for so damn long!
Wish me luck. Hopefully I'll get everything in on time.

11 November 2005

all better!

My neck is absolutely sweet now, thanks to you guys leaving me lovely get better messages. :) This is just a very quick update. I'm making progress with my essays and assignments but I had to add 'study for science exam' to the list yesterday. It's a week away but I wanna keep up the 100% marks.

I'm stoked with my eating and stuff at the moment. I had fast food 3 times this week and still managed to lose 0.9 kg. AND I got my new scales so I'm on a bit of a high at the moment.
I most likely won't be updating again until sunday night, possibly monday. Depending on where the assignments and essays are at. Hope you guys are having a great weekend.

09 November 2005

feeling a bit bummed

Well the going out and buying cleo just didn't work. Due in part to the fact that I strained a muscle in my neck on monday night and had to remain horizontal for the next 12 hours with a wheat pack on it. I then had tec yesterday (I didn't want to ruin my 'perfect' attendance, I know it's not school but I'm still proud) where I took my wheat pack along and kept heating that up and putting it on my shoulder. I was fine until I got home last night and had to stand for like an hour cooking dinner. The boyfriend offered but I'm too freakin stubborn! Standing seems to be the only thing that causes tremendous amounts of pain, so I've been avoiding it. But enough b*tching.

I've got tec again today and I'm terribly behind in my assignments again, and I've got a full on weekend in which I don't think I'll get much essay writing done. Working both days and going up to a wrestling show with a friend saturday night, I had promised before I realised I was so snowed under. Besides it should be fun. I'm going to have to work through lunch for the next two days and perhaps stay late in the computer lab. Suck. So this means I may not be updating for a few days. Maybe just some short ones, we'll see. Believe me when I say I'll be sticking to my points though, and I'll probably get out and do some exercise to relieve tension. Thankfully I havn't fallen from grace since my last confession of food.

Anyway here's a little thing to keep you guys going, nicked it from kate :)

07 November 2005

mmmm sleep ins are good

The boyfriend took the car to work today, because I knew that if I had it I'd be driving around visiting people rather than doing assignments. And plus I got to have a sleep in because I didn't have to get up at 7 to take him to work. I like sleep ins not just for the sleep, but the fact that I tend not to be hungry for the rest of the day, and I really get to enjoy my points by having a few high point things. I got to have a double scoop icecream yesterday :) hehe.

Oh and yesterday we went around to the boyfriend's parents house (where my best mate, also his younger sister lives) where they were having a combined fireworks night. And I got to weigh myself there. Naughty, I know! because it wasn't weigh day but I couldn't help myself. And get this I was only 70 kg! Now I know I weighed myself about the same time last week and I was 71 but I truly hope I don't put it all back on before weigh day on friday. I feel like I'm losing weight, and everyone's commenting on how I look like I'm losing weight so I'm REALLY hoping for a loss this week. Because officially I'm still 72.5.

I've sort of been slacking in the exercise department over the last week or so, so I'm planning on going out and buying the new cleo magazine which has their yearly 'summer body blitz' in it. I think its a three month thing, maybe two. Not sure, but I'm going to give a go.
Will fill you in on what it will involve later.

05 November 2005

I have a confession to make...

Father forgive me for I have sinned.
The lord will forgive you my daughter, what are you sins?
I had dinner at burger king last night and KFC for lunch today.

hehe sorry, thought it would be an interesting way of telling y'all. I'm not feeling overly guilty about it, as both days I was within my points and I didn't overeat. In fact I've discovered something I can't eat anywhere NEAR as much as what I used to. At burger king I had a cheeseburger, and reg fries (total of 10.5 pts) and at KFC I had a piece of chicken, and a potato and gravy (6.5 pts). Atleast I think thats what the points values were because I was looking at a rather old version of 'eating out' weight watchers thing.

Anyway that's all for now. I'm feeling guilty, but glad I ate it instead of depriving myself.

04 November 2005

ho....hum

just a quick post, haven't really got much to say. Been busy today, I should have been busier but I am ignoring my assignements. Procrastination, such a wonderful but consequence filled thing.
Eatings going okay I guess. I'm feeling like I'm being deprived at the moment even though I KNOW I'm not. So instead of having a big splurge I'm pinpointing what it is I feel like, having it, but keeping it within my points range. Which is cool. I get to eat what I want without feeling guilty. YAY!
Had 3 whole punnets of strawberries yesterday they're not high in points but I'd have to say that was definitly a binge.
My body is always tired at the moment the same with my mind and I mentioned to someone that I've been get light headed quite often when standing up. They said my blood sugar levels may be readjusting to the lack of artificial sugar in my diet and it may take a while to adjust. I'm sleeping a lot but I should get past it.
Had weigh in this morning. I didn't end up at 71 kg like I was on monday :( I was still at 72.5 but I'm okay with that it's not a gain. And as I said 3 WHOLE punnets of strawberries I ate yesterday. I think it might not be helping that I'm not drinking my 2 litres of water a day so I may be retaining water too.
Anyway enough analysing for today. I'm pooped....again! hehe Have a great weekend everybody!

02 November 2005

....zzzz.....zzzz....

today I've been really low on energy. I'm wondering whether it might be another side effect of such a large meal last night. I don't think I slept too good last night with my bloated tummy. But besides that today went good.
I need to get back into the habit of drinking my water every day. And I need to get back to going for walks. Apart from that I have been eating under my points, and I had to do my belt up one more notch today. YAY!
Anyway I'm pooped I have an early start tomorrow mornin and I need a better sleep tonight.
Ciao

01 November 2005

a shocking revelation!

I can't eat the same sized meals as I used to. Nachos used to be my indulgence, and tonight it has only made me feel icky. I skimmed on my points today a bit so I could have the nachos (an 11 point meal), I sat on the couch to enjoy it. I ate the whole plate. I am so bloated now it hurts! I feel lethargic and tired. I can't believe I used to eat a bigger serving than that happily. This weight watchers has opened my eyes to serving sizes to the extreme. I've been eating smaller meals and so my stomach has shrunk and now I can't eat too much in one sitting. It may sound as though I'm complaining but I'm not! It's fantastic that I've been able recognise that I didn't enjoy the meal. I don't think I'll be eating nachos again. That's sounds terribly strange for me to see written down but it's true. And besides not only do I feel bloated now, but guilty (even though I'm still under my points for the day) too. I'm not going to let it get me down though. Just pick myself up and have a nice and healthy day tomorrow :)

The rest of the day has been fine, I'm getting a tad nervous about not receiving my interview for nursing yet. Nearly everyone else in my class has had theirs and they're all in. I'm getting anxious but thats ok, it will come. I will get in. (theres my positive affirmation for the day heh)
Anyway, don't really have much else to say. Night y'all.
